Cooling season is starting to heat up, baseball season is in full swing, and I don’t have another pun off the top of my head. But, I tell you what, I could not be prouder of the direction of our industry and HARDI so far this year.

This month, we’re back in D.C. for the Congressional Fly-in to promote our industry on the Hill. It’s so important for us to continue to take advantage of this unique channel to fulfill our civic duty.

All distribution businesses are sales driven, which is why HARDI’s Marketing & Sales Optimization Conference is the biggest focus conference of the year. To learn and discuss specific marketing and sales practices specific to HVACR distribution is such a unique opportunity, and I encourage you to send someone from your company to this event, which occurs June 3-5 in Miami.

If you’ve got some young, talented people at your company, you should encourage them to get involved in HARDI’s Emerging Leaders program, which includes the Emerging Leaders Summer Conference, July 22-24, in Columbus, Ohio. The conference is highlighted by its mentor-led roundtables, where it’s old guard meets new blood. While I normally get to share my experiences with our up-and-comers, unfortunately this is the one event I can’t make it to this year.

Lastly, HARDI is revamping our committee and council structure. If you’ve been looking for a way to get involved in HARDI, this is a perfect opportunity.
