One of Midland’s best-known refrigeration specialists, Robert ‘Bob’ Atkins, announced his retirement from the industry. His decision follows a short period of ill health.

A proud ‘Brummie’, Bob has been an important member of the Hubbard Products commercial refrigeration team for an almost uninterrupted 28 years, being an instrumental counsellor in the development of Hubbard’s product portfolio over that period.

Highly thought of by colleagues and customers alike, Bob’s knowledge and enthusiasm for pragmatic solutions to commercial refrigeration requirements has earned him a high-level of respect within the industry.

As regional manager for Hubbard Products, Bob was noted for his involvement in the launch of Hubbard Products highly successful range of packaged condensing units that are now specified by a large number of national and international ‘blue-chip’ retailers.

“Bob’s decision to retire is one that has clearly been given a great deal of thought and one that we have met with the utmost respect and support – it is never an easy decision to make," said Pat Maughan, CEO, Hubbard Products. "He is well known within the refrigeration Industry in the Midlands and North of England and throughout all the commercial sectors we deal with.  He was, and will continue to be an inspiration to many, and I would like to thank Bob for all that he has offered during his wide-ranging career.  I would also like to wish him well in his transition from commerce into the next chapter of his life, whilst truly hoping that he enjoys the opportunity to rest and recuperate and develop new interests in the future.”
