Tecumseh Celebrates Twenty Year Anniversary of Chinese Joint Venture
Customers, guests and employees joined Tecumseh Products Co. LLC and Century management in celebrating CTE’s twenty-year anniversary. CTE (Shanghai, China) is a solely foreign invested enterprise jointly owned by Century Equipment Co. Ltd. (Hong Kong, China) and Tecumseh Europe SA (Lyon, France). The company produces commercial refrigeration condensing units and heat transfer coils for sale throughout China.
Bill Merritt, Tecumseh’s vice president – global product management, marketing and sales, and board of director for CTE, presented Jian Lu, CTE’s general manager, with a plaque commemorating the joint venture’s 20-year milestone. Merritt congratulated CTE on their continued growth and commented, “the strong working relationship and open dialogue between our two companies has been essential to the success of CTE."
CTE produces a full-range of commercial refrigeration condensing units ranging in capacity from 340 to 102,000 Btuh (100 to 30,000 watts). Wherever possible, Tecumseh reciprocating piston and rotary type compressors are incorporated into CTE’s condensing unit designs.
Hin Choy Chong, managing director for Tecumseh Asia and board of director for CTE, stated that “the performance and reliability of Tecumseh compressors combined with the heat transfer technology developed by CTE has established a high level of acceptance for our condensing units throughout China.” Chong went on to say, “we’re working closely with CTE to improve their product offering with the objective of better serving our customers in China. Condensing units that use less energy and are quiet in operation have become increasingly important to the Chinese commercial refrigeration market.”
