Obituary: Morgan “Rex” Smith
Morgan “Rex” Smith, a veteran of The NEWS for 35 years, a U.S. Army Korean Veteran, and 1952 Rose Bowl Champion, passed away July 26.
He was the beloved husband of 64 years to Marilyn (nee Erickson); loving father of Christi (Charlie) McLravy, Scott (Diane) and Pamela Smith; cherished grandpa of Tom, Kathryn, Kendall, and Jamie; and devoted brother of Pat Glass.
His memorial was held July 29 at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, Illinois.
