Forrest L. Gould of Needham, Massachusetts, died July 19 in the presence of his family. He was 89 years old.

Gould was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and attended St. Mary’s High School in Waltham. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey; attended Harvard College, the class of 1952; and worked for General Electric after graduation.

In 1960, he started the Forrest Gould Co., a sales agency. He built that business with his wife, Sally, and was later joined by his son Peter. Gould made sales calls until he was 84.

Gould was a Boston sports fan, an active member of his church, and a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife of 63 years; five children, Maria, David, Peter, Joan, and F.J.; and 14 grandchildren.
