DANBURY, Conn. — Belimo Americas has announced an Innovation Contest regarding zone valves. Internal leakage in zone valves can cause significant loss of energy and money, noted the company. The contest involves finding a simple method for detecting and measuring zone valve internal leakage.

The solution should be user-friendly, non-invasive, portable and applicable to operating heating or cooling system in a building. The winning entry will be awarded prize money of CHF 10’000 (approximately $10,289 U.S. dollars). Second and third place entries will be awarded prize money of CHF 2’500 (approximately $2,572 U.S. dollars) each.
