HTS New England to Merge with Stebbins-Duffy

The combined business will serve as the exclusive Daikin equipment sales representative in the region

August 26, 2016

BOSTON — HTS New England, the New England division of one of the largest independent commercial HVAC manufacturers’ representatives in North America, announced plans to merge operations with Stebbins-Duffy. The companies said the merger enables the new entity to better serve the greater New England region as a one-stop shop across all commercial and industrial vertical markets.

The combined business, called HTS New England, will serve as the exclusive Daikin equipment sales representative in the region. The newly formed HTS New England will be led by Emery George, vice president of Stebbins-Duffy, and three current HTS New England principals, Peter Foss, Jeff Ritchie, and Dan Senese.

“Stebbins-Duffy was founded in 1967 on a promise to deliver value to our customers and we are proud to join the HTS New England team to build upon this promise,” said George. “Uniting two organizations with incredible depth and breadth in their specific areas will result in a more comprehensive offering for local customers. We are confident in our joint future and look forward to providing a lasting impact for our New England clients.”

“We are thankful for our valued clients and manufacturers who have enabled Stebbins-Duffy to establish a strong legacy in New England,” said John Duffy, president of Stebbins-Duffy. “I have trust in the HTS New England leadership team and I’m confident that together, we’ll deliver results that far surpass what we could accomplish as separate entities. Furthermore, I’m excited to transition to a senior contracting sales role where I will also train and mentor our highly technical sales teams.”

“HTS has a proven track record of building up territories for Daikin across North America and we will put the same focus and strategy in place for New England,” said Derek Gordon, CEO, HTS. “Our employees and owners thoroughly enjoy selling and supporting Daikin products, and we are committed to doing what it takes to protect and enhance the brand name of all manufacturers we represent. We will become a global organization with shared resources and operations intelligence, coupled with a strong understanding of Daikin technology — the most advanced in the industry.”

HTS’ sister company, Direct Expansion Solutions (DXS), is also launching operations in New England as DXS New England, with a dedication to Daikin variable refrigerant volume (VRV) systems and variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technology. The new DXS team will leverage its specialized Daikin VRV product expertise and experience to deliver solutions to local customers.

“New England customers will now benefit from DXS Texas experience, DXS Ontario cold climate innovation, and existing HTS New England and Stebbins-Duffy relationships,” said Thomas McLaughlin, principal, HTS and DXS. “At DXS we strive to be the absolute best in VRF technology, and to provide this expertise to our clients. Our entire business is modeled around the Daikin VRV product and we are heavily invested in supporting our clients.”
