The Department of Energy has issued a pre-publication Federal Register final rule pertaining to test procedures for portable air conditioners. (April 26, 2016)

• The effective date of this rule is 30 days after publication in the Federal Register. The final rule changes will be mandatory for representations of energy use or efficiency on or after 180 days after publication in the Federal Register.
