According to the company the “Cloudfridge IoT Controller/Router” is a new type of inexpensive, Wi-Fi connected, temperature regulating device, controlling and measuring energy consumption of the main refrigerator components.

Unlike existing systems, Cloudfridge collects a large amount of operational data from multiple sensors. The refrigerator’s temperature set points are constantly re-evaluated and adjusted, based on real-time data analysis taking place in the cloud.

“Refrigerators are operated today the same way they operated when they were invented one hundred years ago,” said Marco Graziano, founder and CEO of Visible Energy. “The commercial refrigeration industry is ready for disruption, and it is time it enters the age of smart services, big data, and scalable energy efficiency.

“Our Cloudfridge products and cloud services are leading the way by providing real energy savings while simplifying operations.”

The company says that all kinds of commercial refrigerators from walk-ins to reach-ins can be retrofitted with Cloudfridge products, for use in supermarkets, restaurants, convenience stores, hotels, pharmacies, food, and hospitality industry.
