Description: This digital temperature sensor is based on the same chip as the SHT3x humidity sensors and comes in a tiny eight-pin dual-flat no-leads (DFN) package measuring only 2.5 by 2.5 mm2 with a height of 0.9 mm. Its size and 2.4- to 5.5-V supply range allow for integration in a variety of applications. CMOSens® technology offers intelligence, reliability, and improved accuracy. Furthermore, the sensor demonstrates a fast startup and response time, and its functionality includes enhanced signal processing, two distinctive and user selectable I2C addresses, and communication speeds of up to 1 MHz. The sensor is calibrated to provide a linearized, digital output that is compensated for supply voltage instabilities. Qualification is based on JESD47 with a dedicated automotive qualification plan. The alert option with definable temperature set points enables the sensor to be used as a watchdog and can thus strongly optimize overall power consumption.
