Nortek Implements QR Codes
Change will help contractors easily access technical literature associated with the equipment
ST. LOUIS — Nortek Global HVAC is enhancing its products with a link to technical literature for faster troubleshooting. The company’s new QR code product label is designed to help contractors easily access technical literature associated with the equipment. Contractors can scan the labels with their smartphone QR code readers and link directly to the specific model’s information on the company’s online literature library. Available documents include installation instructions, charging charts, replacement parts lists, wiring diagrams, and more.
“Contractors call us for technical help and many times the answers are in the literature,” said Matt Lattanzi, director of warranty and technical services, Nortek Global HVAC. “Having a way to quickly scan a code on the product and find the necessary documents can reduce lost time on the job and help ensure the equipment is installed and/or serviced correctly.”
The on-product literature links join a long list of technology solutions from Nortek Global HVAC to help contractors work more effectively and more efficiently. In addition to the new product labels, the company supports contractors with an in-home sales iPad app, mobile load calculation tools, weekly video tips, and even support for managing a Facebook business page.
Nortek Global HVAC has implemented the new QR codes on split-system air conditioners with other product lines to follow.
