FALLS CHURCH, Va. — Twenty students were recently awarded a total of $37,500 in scholarships through the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Educational Foundation. The scholarships were funded by the foundation, the South Jersey Mechanical Contractors Association, Anne Williams, the PHCC Auxiliary of Texas, the PHCC Auxiliary of Massachusetts, and PHCC’s Past National Officers.

Conor Flanagan of Norfolk, Massachusetts, received the $5,000 2015 Charles F. Hiley Memorial Scholarship funded by the PHCC Educational Foundation and South Jersey Mechanical Contractors Association. Flanagan is pursuing a degree in Business Management at Southern New Hampshire University.

The following students were awarded $2,500 scholarships funded by the PHCC Educational Foundation: Dylan Belkholm of Webster, Wisconsin, mechanical engineering, Mankato State University; Joshua Bowman of McMurray, Pennsylvania, mechanical engineering, Penn State University; Keenan Brekke of Oakland, California, construction management, California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo; Jordan Dietrich of Sobieski, Wisconsin, mechanical engineering, University of Colorado – Boulder; Mason Lott of Pawnee, Illinois, mechanical engineering, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology; and Patrick Riley of Milton, Massachusetts, business management, Providence College.

The following students received $1,000 scholarships funded by the PHCC Educational Foundation: Allan Aguilar of San Diego, plumbing apprentice, PHCC Academy of San Diego; Aubrey Gibbs of Dawsonville, Georgia, construction management, Georgia Southern University; Mike Lacey of El Cajon, California, plumbing apprentice, PHCC Academy of San Diego; Rene Renaud of El Cajon, California, plumbing apprentice, PHCC Academy of San Diego; Hayden Rhymer of Blountville, Tennessee, mechanical engineering, Tennessee Tech University; Scott Silver of Millwood, New York, mechanical engineering, Lafayette College; Jared Stewart of Raleigh, North Carolina, mechanical engineering, North Carolina State University; Elizabeth Swanson of Mukilteo, Washington, mechanical engineering, Washington State University; Angella Volchko of Kent, Ohio, mechanical engineering, University of Colorado – Boulder; and Dylan Wolf of West Liberty, Iowa, plumbing apprentice, Kirkwood Community College PHCC apprenticeship program.

Additionally, Elizabeth Bergh of Duluth, Minnesota, received a $2,500 need-based scholarship sponsored by the PHCC Past National Officers. She is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at Michigan Tech.

Rachel Hinchey of Wakefield, Massachusetts, was awarded the PHCC of Massachusetts Auxiliary Sponsored Scholarship of $1,500 and the Fran Williams Memorial Scholarship of $1,000, sponsored by Anne Williams. She is pursuing a degree in business management at the University of South Carolina.

Lastly, Hannah Freund of Spring Branch, Texas, was awarded a $2,500 scholarship funded by the PHCC of Texas Auxiliary and PHCC Educational Foundation. She is pursuing a degree in business management at Dallas Baptist University.
