Construction management software helps company manage hundreds of projects across the U.S.
RICHARDSON, Texas — Systemates Inc. announced that its client Source Refrigeration & HVAC has been awarded a 2015 Constructech Gold Vision Award under the Specialty Contractor category. Source was recognized for its exemplary application of technology in its business, using Projectmates web-based construction management software to manage hundreds of projects across the United States.

Source equipped nearly 200 foremen with iPads for quick access to the software. Projectmates allows for fast communication and information exchange nationwide, which in turn keeps both office and field users constantly on the same page. Source has since achieved a 96 percent compliance rate with Projectmates and manages over 1,000 projects in the software at any given time.
Source has numerous integration points between Projectmates and its accounting software, MS Dynamics. For example, when jobs are set up in MS Dynamics, they are automatically created in Projectmates within one hour so that construction managers and foreman can begin accessing information immediately. This speeds up the turnover process and eliminates double data entry. Budgets are synced nightly so that construction managers and foremen can monitor labor and material costs in real time to make sure jobs stay profitable. Before Projectmates, the field would get job cost reports three weeks later, by which time it was too late to steer the job to profitability. Finally, Source has several integration points related to client billing. Field staff, construction managers, and coordinators collaborate in Projectmates to capture and execute proposal requests, change orders, and pay applications and invoices. This has standardized Source’s billing process, decreased data entry errors, and helped Source collect money due on contracts and change orders.
