SYDNEY — BuildingIQ, an energy management software company, has announced the deployment of its Predictive Energy Optimization™ (PEO) platform to BSA Group to promote to its commercial clients. BSA Group, a technical and commercial services provider to some of Australia’s largest companies, maintains a network of more than 500 contracting companies and manages 1,600 people performing more than 120,000 jobs per month, including installations, repairs, and customer support. Under this agreement, BSA Group will integrate BuildingIQ’s cloud-based intelligent energy management software into its services across major shopping centers, office buildings, and health care institutions to reduce daily energy usage.

The BuildingIQ PEO platform will be offered as part of a strategic solution developed by BSA’s Technical Maintenance Services business unit. Powered by predictive analytics, BuildingIQ said its platform intelligently and automatically makes changes to HVAC operation using real-time variables such as occupant comfort, building characteristics, historical data, weather forecasts, and utility signals to optimize energy use. It requires minimal set-up time and is able to calibrate itself to a building’s unique characteristics. Once installed, the solution can essentially run itself with little need for human intervention and no disruption to occupants.

“BSA specializes in all aspects of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning and can provide a single point of contact from the design phase of a system all the way to maintenance, once completed and occupied,” said Glenn McLachlan, group general manager of BSA Group. “We want to ensure that all our customers have the necessary tools to meet any and all of their building management goals. With electricity prices on the rise, reducing daily energy consumption is a high priority. BuildingIQ’s platform is able to automate this task and drop energy consumption, especially during the hottest parts of the day when energy is at its most expensive.”

“The BuildingIQ solution is ideal for organizations like BSA Group, which provides a full inventory of services to a wide array of clients including always-on hospitals and shopping centers with heavy foot traffic,” said Michael Nark, CEO of BuildingIQ. “With Predictive Energy Optimization, decisions are based on data taken from customized variables, meaning our system can effectively generate savings under countless conditions. What’s more, the continuous savings resulting from the solution can free up valuable cash flow, creating a new revenue stream for building owners that can be directed toward other services.”
