F-GasmanHRP has reported that its fgasman.co.uk website, launched in December, has proved popular with United Kingdom contractors. Some 2,500 have registered their details to be able to purchase F-gases legally. Over 100 visits a day have been recorded and a wide range of questions posed for F-Gasman.

Managing Director Mandy Pilgrim expressed her satisfaction with the initial reaction to the site. She said, “It is clear that there is a need for straightforward information. We are glad to be able to help contractors stay on the right side of the law and to make sure that the essential environmental regulations are met by the UK industry.”

The wholesaler said that F-Gasman’s answers have helped contractors understand the details of the individual and company registrations required to purchase refrigerants and the training needed to gain registration. To support this, HRP has provided additional training courses in the C&G 2079 and CITB J11 qualifications required for registration.

Other questions have related to transport refrigeration, leak checking, and purchase of pre-charged systems. Documents placed on the site include the letters of assurance required by those who believe they do not need F-gas registration.

In addition to F-gas queries, questions have also arisen about systems using R-22, now that recharging with recovered HCFC is no longer allowed.

Questions posed by contractors will be answered by HRP experts at www.fgasman.co.uk.
