One of Axiom Energy Solutions’ principals and vice president of engineering, Dean Cromwell, and his family created a nonprofit organization called Payette River Bicycle Movement Inc. (PRBM). While spending most of his time designing and implementing engineered lighting and turnkey energy projects for Axiom, Cromwell also finds time on evening and weekends to provide refurbished bikes for exercise and fun.
Cromwell and his family have been looking for a way to contribute and give back to the community in a meaningful way. They decided to create an organization that would provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to have a bike of their own. Their first and ongoing goal has been to refurbish and donate bikes to kids who might not otherwise have a bike, helmet, or bicycle safety education.
Using sustainability practices through the implementation of energy-efficient solutions and services, PRBM is helping children to realize their dreams of owning a bicycle and learning to ride it safely.
PRBM continuously receives calls and emails from people who are interested in donating bicycles to be refurbished or with helping to fix and tuneup the bicycles.
In 2014, PRBM participated in a number of community events in partnership with a local elementary school and the local department of health and welfare to donate more than 25 refurbished bikes to children in the community.
