Jan. 2, 2015: Ecovent to Showcase Smart Thermostat System at Consumer Electronics Show
Its Wireless System of Sensors and Vents Automatically Directs Airflow to Rooms Where It’s Needed
BOSTON — Ecovent, maker of wireless vents and sensors for home HVAC systems, announced that it will showcase its smart thermostat system at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. At CES, Ecovent will be giving demonstrations on how its wireless system of sensors and vents automatically directs airflow to rooms where it’s needed. In initial installs, Ecovent said it dropped the temperature difference between floors from 15°F to 2°F while running the HVAC system 30 percent less.
Ecovent said it extends the capabilities of smart thermostats by providing room-level temperature control and putting an end to heating and cooling empty rooms. The system consists of three components:
• Climate sensors designed to fit any electrical outlet;
• Intelligent wireless vents that adjust to the real-time temperature; and
• An intuitive mobile app for iOS and Android platforms.
Ecovent works with existing central air systems by replacing floor, wall, or ceiling vents and installs in less than three hours without requiring construction, wiring, or programming, said the company.
Ecovent will be exhibiting at CES Tech West at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, Las Vegas, from Jan. 6 to Jan. 9.
