INDIANAPOLIS — Carrier has announced a new partnership with SolarCity, a full-service solar power provider, that allows Carrier-trained technicians and comfort consultants to offer solar services to Carrier customers. Those who purchase a new Carrier product and choose to install SolarCity solar panels will receive a $1,000 rebate, while gaining the benefit of a renewable energy source to help power their home.

Recognizing that a home’s HVAC system is one of the largest consumers of energy in the home, Carrier said the new initiative with SolarCity offers a clean, energy-efficient solution that further enhances the benefits of its high-efficiency products.

“Carrier’s collaboration with SolarCity is a natural fit as we look to expand energy efficiency beyond the HVAC system to the whole home,” said Matthew Pine, director of marketing, Carrier. “Our collective offerings allow us to create solutions that enable homeowners to gain more control of their home energy consumption and help create a more robust home energy ecosystem.”

The $1,000 rebate can be applied to purchases of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, packaged units, ductless systems, or entire system upgrades, upon operation of the homeowner’s SolarCity system. The program will be available in a limited number of states in the U.S.
