ARLINGTON, Va. — ACCA, the indoor environment and energy efficiency association, has published its latest ComforTool for contractor members to help educate customers. The new addition to this series of fliers, “Orphan Gas Appliances,” explains what orphan appliances are, why they are dangerous, and how to correct the issue.

ComforTools are provided to ACCA members at no cost and cover a variety of topics related to HVAC businesses including design, installation, regulatory issues, business practices, and incentives.

“ACCA ComforTools continue to be one of the most valuable resources we offer our members, because they help them easily education their customers about complex issues that can occur in homes,” said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA president and CEO. “Covering a topic such as orphan gas appliances is extremely important. Many homeowners are not aware of the potential carbon monoxide danger that orphan appliances present or the expensive damage that they can cause to their homes.”

ACCA members can download this new ComforTool, and any of the others in the library, for free in the download section of the Member Service Center at http://members.acca.org.
