Feb. 28, 2014: HeatCAD and LoopCAD Recognized by ACCA as ‘Powered by Manual J’
Review of the Functionality and Capabilities of the Software Ensures Compliance
ARLINGTON, Va. — ACCA has recognized Avenir Software’s HeatCAD® (for residential heating and cooling load calculations) and LoopCAD® (for radiant and snow melt system designs) as “Powered by Manual J®.” This is the sixth software provider to earn this designation from ACCA for its product offerings.
To become recognized, ACCA reviews the software’s functionality and capabilities to ensure that it complies with the procedures and requirements of ANSI/ACCA 2 Manual J - 2011 (Residential Load Calculation). Avenir Software is now able to use the Powered by Manual J logo on HeatCAD and LoopCAD.
“When reviewing third-party software, ACCA exerts a lot of effort to ensure that contractors are getting true Manual J calculations. We are extremely pleased that more software companies are seeing the value of using Manual J to create their load calculation software,” said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA president and CEO. “We also want to remind contractors that if the software they are using is not listed on our website as Powered by Manual J, it has not been approved by ACCA and their software may not properly be following Manual J’s procedures, methodologies, and defaults.”
