ARLINGTON, Va. — The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has announced that contractors can now become recognized in both ACCA Quality Assured (QA) accreditation programs for one fee.

ACCA said the new pricing structure gives contractors, who meet the standards of the accreditation programs, a simplified path to gaining recognition. Members can now become accredited in ACCA’s QA New Homes and QA Residential Service and Installation [RSI] programs for a fee of $600 annually. Non-members can become accredited for $800. The only additional cost is $45 for each home’s Quality Installation Certificate for RSI participants and applicable verifier fees.

“At the end of 2013, the ACCA team reviewed the pricing structure for both of our quality accreditation programs and decided to streamline the application and payment processes,” said Wes Davis, ACCA vice president of quality assured program. “By offering dual recognition and combining the various fees into one low rate, we made applying for accreditation simpler for contractors who are already performing quality installations and meet the requirements of the programs.”

Contractors currently accredited, or are in the process of becoming accredited, received a letter in early January notifying them of the changes to the program.

To apply for dual accreditation, visit http://qacontractors.org and go to Contractor Programs and Apply for Accreditation. For assistance with applying for accreditation, or if you have questions about the programs, email qaprogram@acca.org.
