ALBANY, N.Y. — SmartWatt Energy, an energy efficiency firm that provides turnkey solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients and utilities, has expanded its Multi-Measure Group, adding staff across divisions at its nationwide offices.

In the Commercial, Industrial & Institutional Division, Ryan Urschel has joined SmartWatt as project engineer II and is currently working in the company’s Multi-Measure Group in the corporate office in Albany, N.Y. His energy efficiency experience has been focused on building energy systems and state implemented energy efficiency programs throughout the country. Prior to joining SmartWatt, he was an energy engineer for SAIC, where he performed comprehensive commercial energy audits, worked in energy program implementation, performed on-site measurement and verification, and performed field surveys for a large Northeast utility. A certified energy manager, he will be working in a cross-functional team on multi-measure projects throughout the East Coast, with his primary focus within the team on HVAC projects.

Also, Dennis Fulgencio has joined SmartWatt as an energy engineer II and is currently working in the company’s Multi-Measure Group in the Sacramento, Calif., office. He has four years experience in energy engineering and 12 years experience designing and engineering HVAC systems. Prior to joining SmartWatt, he was an energy engineer at Siemens, where he developed energy performance contracts for cities, municipalities, universities, and school districts throughout California. He also worked as an energy engineer, leading teams working on energy audits on U.S. Navy bases throughout the Pacific Rim, and as a senior design engineer, designing and developing HVAC systems for commercial buildings throughout California. He will be working in a cross-functional team on multi-measure projects throughout the West Coast, with his primary focus within the team on HVAC projects.

In the Utility Programs Division, Robin Henry has joined SmartWatt as a project development engineer and is currently working in the Black Hills Energy Commercial Natural Gas Efficiency Program in Colorado. Prior to joining SmartWatt, he was a weatherization technician for the Northwest Colorado Council of Governments and Homefficient, and a renewable energy technician for High Country Energy Solutions, where he installed solar thermal and photovoltaic systems. A BPI-certified building analyst and envelope professional, he will be developing and overseeing the installation of commercial natural gas efficiency upgrades throughout Black Hills Energy’s service territory in Colorado.
