Five new models have been added to the WhisperValue™ and WhisperValue-Lite™ ventilation fan lines. The vent fans feature a housing depth of 3-3⁄8 inches to mount in a slim 2-by-4-inch joist cavity or stud wall. The UL-approved radiation damper is available for fan-only models in ceiling installations. WhisperValue and WhisperValue Lite are also UL-approved for wall mounting; wall installation reduces costs for builders by eliminating the need to incorporate a radiation damper when penetrating fire-rated ceilings, the company said. The fans have a high airflow circulation of 50, 80, or 100 cfm at extremely low noise levels at both 0.1 and 0.25 inches water gauge static pressure. The FV-08VSL3 and FV-10VSL3 80- and 100-cfm lighted models feature a contemporary grille design with two 13-W, self-ballasted GU24 base CFL lamps and a 4-W night light. The U-Can Contractor Pack allows contractors to install the housing of the fan right after the framing of the structure, then the motor and grille can be installed at a later time when construction is complete. According to the manufacturer, the ability to install the fans and fan lights in this manner provides flexibility during the construction process and allows contractors to store the components separately to minimize the risk of parts being lost or
damaged onsite.
