April 22, 2013: First Meeting of Commercial HVACR, Water Heating Group Scheduled
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced that the first meeting of the newly formed Commercial Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Water Heating, and Refrigeration Certification Working Group will be held on April 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at DOE headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The mission of the Working Group is to undertake a negotiated rulemaking to develop consensus certification requirements for commercial HVAC, water heating, and refrigeration equipment. The group is made up of 25 members representing industry, utilities, and advocacy groups. It includes Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) staff plus representatives from several AHRI member manufacturers, including Goodman Manufacturing; Lennox International; Mitsubishi Electric US; Rheem; Trane; UTC Climate, Controls & Security; and more.
