The Actuator Adapter stops slippage between a VAV actuator and air damper. According to the manufacturer, the problem of slippage occurs when the smooth round shaft is against the smooth surface of the U-bolt, and even though installers and techs might synch down the nuts to create a nice tight fit, over time the air-damper shaft will begin to wear and slippage will begin to occur. The adapter fits actuators that use the U-bolt/strong-back design with all shaft sizes from ½ inch on up, and mounts to the strong back of all actuators. The Actuator Adapter is made from 5020 aluminum that has been anodized, and machined to 1/1,000th of an inch to fit a round shaft of ½ inch or smaller in diameter.
