The LightStar80™ penlight uses a high-color rendering index LED. The color rendering index measures the ability of a light source to represent colors as they appear in natural light. A high color rendering index is useful when working with electrical systems involving multicolored wires, as in HVAC or other applications. The penlight has a rubber bite grip for hands-free use, comes with a pocket clip and two AA batteries, and is available in standard gray and high-visibility orange. The flashlight is electronically regulated to ensure constant light output and has logic built in that makes the LED flicker at the end of battery life to alert the user to change the batteries. The light is activated with a tail cap switch that allows for a momentary beam or regular on-off. It has an 80-lumen output and a runtime of 5 hours.
