TYLER, Texas — For the fifth time in eight years, Trane has been selected by David Weekley Homes as a winner of its Partners of Choice Award. The award is the culmination of an extensive year-long evaluation process. Suppliers’ performance in providing quality and service is assessed quarterly by David Weekley Homes’ team members. Each company’s numeric scores are averaged, and then an alpha designator — ranging from A to F — is assigned relative to its ranking with all of the other national trading partners.

The Partners of Choice Awards are presented to suppliers who maintained either an AA for both Quality and Service or an A in Quality or Service for the previous 12 months. Trane received an AA ranking for both Quality and Service and is one of only 10 companies out of 150 suppliers to join this elite group in 2011.

“What separates good from great suppliers are those that realize they must look beyond their four walls and actively manage the supply chain to ensure their products reach their customers in a timely, cost-effective manner,” said Bill Justus, vice president of supply chain services for David Weekley Homes, and the primary catalyst behind the supplier evaluation platform.
