Dec. 9, 2010: HVAC Excellence Educator and Trainer Conference Set for March

December 9, 2010

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. - HVAC Excellence will host its National HVACR Educators and Trainers Conference March 20-22, 2011, at the South Point in Las Vegas. According to the organization, “No matter your role in the HVACR industry, in some fashion, we are all educators and trainers.” In accordance with this theme, HVAC Excellence is inviting all industry members to participate in the 2011 conference.

The organization noted, “Proper technician training is the method by which we will meet the challenges of the modern HVAC industry.” It pointed out that manufacturers, wholesalers, and contractors can all benefit from a properly trained HVAC workforce.

According to HVAC Excellence, “Industry estimates show that 70 percent of the HVACR equipment installed today has inadequate airflow, 67 percent has been improperly charged, and 70 percent of the systems are oversized.” To solve and prevent these problems, HVAC Excellence noted that “education should be the focal point of our industry.” Specifically, the organization stated, “Manufacturers and wholesalers need to educate their customers, contractors need to educate their employees, and teachers need to educate their students. “

The National HVACR Educators and Trainers Conference will consist of concurrent sessions covering new and changing technologies, changes in federal legislation, energy efficiency, best practices, training techniques that work, and green and sustainable technologies. Additionally, there will be industry exhibits and roundtables for networking.

HVAC Excellence said the conference’s 70-plus sessions will be conducted by industry leaders from the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Carrier, Daikin, DuPont, Emerson, Esco, Genteq, United Association (UA), and more.

Highlights will include a train-the-trainer boot camp, a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) session, and a regulatory update from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
