Rapid Recovery Opens Nashville Franchise
Rapid Recovery, a nationwide refrigerant recovery company, announced the opening of its Nashville, Tenn., franchise partner.
This marked the 22nd location for the provider of refrigerant abatement for the HVACR, demolition, and marine industries.
Dan Melson has purchased the Rapid Recovery franchise for middle and east Tennessee. According to the announcement, Rapid Recovery said it “assumes the liability relieving the contractor of a potential $34,500 EPA liability per venting incident, maintains a paper trail, stickers every unit recovered, documents every pound of refrigerant removed, and assumes responsibility for its handling.” Documentation is kept by Rapid Recovery and given to the customer at the completion of the job and as a year-end compilation that details all jobs done during the year.
Melson is a graduate of Murray State University with a finance degree. He worked for the Trane Company 11 years and then 20-plus years in wholesale HVAC distribution in sales and management.
“I always wanted to be an entrepreneur,” he said. “After research, thought and study, I was impressed by the Rapid Recovery model. It offers a great service that can actually make money for the contractor through the time saved by our service. We have had incredible, positive response in our initial presentations. We can do any job, from a single residential unit to a large, industrial complex system.”
Working with him is his son Bray, also a graduate of Murray State with a finance degree. The Melsons trained for their duties with Rapid Recovery in Arizona, learning how the business works and doing job-site, hands-on training to familiarize themselves with the equipment and processes. They are EPA certified and familiar with all the EPA regulations needed to handle refrigerants.
