Oct. 14, 2010: Melink Wins 2010 Renewable Energy Project of the Year Award
MILFORD, Ohio - Melink Corp. has won the Association of Energy Engineers’ 2010 Renewable Energy Project of the Year award for its green corporate headquarters.
Melink’s headquarters was the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certified office building in Ohio and in January 2010 became LEED Platinum certified for existing buildings. The building uses solar photovoltaic (PV), solar thermal, geothermal, biomass, and wind to power its 30,000-square-foot facility. The company plans to go net zero energy at the end of the year.
The award ceremony is being held on Dec. 8 in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the 2010 World Energy Engineering Congress. President Steve Melink will be attending to accept the award.
“To be selected as the Renewable Energy Project of the Year out of thousands of green buildings across the U.S. and throughout the world is one of the greatest honors we have received,” Melink said.
