CHANTILLY, Va. - The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) has announced that SMACNA Mid-Atlantic chapter contractors Stromberg Metal Works, Southland Industries, and Pierce Associates were named winners in the annual Washington Building Congress (WBC) Craftsmanship Awards competition, which recognizes superior craftsmanship skills in a variety of trades including installation of mechanical systems.
Stromberg Metal Works Inc. of Beltsville, Md., received an award for its work on the George Mason University Biomedical Research Laboratory in Manassas, Va. Southland Industries of Dulles, Va., won an award for its work on the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. Pierce Associates Inc. of Alexandria, Va., was recognized for its work on Constitution Center in Washington, D.C.
The WBC Craftsmanship Awards have recognized more than 8,500 craftsmen in 2,500 winning projects since 1956.
