More than 50 Honeywell employees and volunteers from Oil Heat Cares and EDOS Manufacturers’ Reps Inc. volunteered to repair and clean up the YMCA Shepard Reservation Day Camp for underprivileged children in Rhode Island.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Honeywell and Rebuilding Together Providence led an all-day revitalization project at the YMCA Shepard Reservation Day Camp in Smithfield, R.I. The event was planned to coincide with the annual convention of the National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers (NAOHSM).

Honeywell donated more than $7,500 in materials, and more than 50 Honeywell employees and volunteers from Oil Heat Cares and EDOS Manufacturers’ Reps Inc. helped with the project.

“The YMCA of Greater Providence is very grateful for the employees of Honeywell, Oil Heat Cares, and EDOS for their time and energy spent out at our Camp Shepard Facility,” said Paula Jacobson, executive director of the East Side/Mt. Hope YMCA.

The renovations included repairing and painting building exteriors, building new picnic tables, clearing debris, and performing general trail maintenance. The team also planted new flowers on the grounds.

“We are thrilled to be here helping make this day camp a more comfortable place for the children who play here everyday,” said Axel Reichert, senior marketing manager for Honeywell Environmental and Combustion Controls. “We are proud to help support Rebuilding Together and the incredible work they do. We are pleased that we can be part of Honeywell’s efforts to make a positive impact on our community where we work, live, and raise our families.”
