Estimation Logistics™ 8.0, a takeoff and estimating software for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC contractors, includes significant enhancements to the entire Logistics suite of Estimating modules, as well as Estimation Digital Takeoff. An add-on capability of Estimation Logistics, Digital Takeoff allows contractors to generate takeoffs straight from digital plan files instead of paper blueprints. Digital Takeoff allows contractors to create a takeoff by tracing a structure on a computer screen and improves timesavings with the ability to quickly count items and measure length and square footage in full color. The method produces a complete estimate and captures a graphical takeoff. Enhancements to 8.0 include the ability to edit details of byproducts at the takeoff level, which accommodates on-the-fly changes; capacity to change scope of job easily by takeoff of connection types for hangers and risers; and ability to reapply pressure table changes to all sections at one time for easy editing.
