Carrier Dedicates ASHRAE Library
ATLANTA - Carrier Corp. participated in dedicating the
Willis H. Carrier Engineering Library at the headquarters for the American
Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), with
a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony. Additionally, Automated Logic Corp., a
subsidiary of Carrier, donated its Web CTRL® networked building automation
system to provide a user interface for ASHRAE’s living lab, allowing
researchers around the world to monitor its performance and extract data.
Featuring a portrait of Carrier Corp. founder Willis Carrier, the new 600-square-foot library houses rare books, including an autographed copy of Carrier’s Modern Heating, Air Conditioning and Ventilation; early editions of publications written by other industry pioneers such as the Margaret Ingles’ biography on Carrier; a complete set of ASHRAE publications; and numerous conference proceedings.
“ASHRAE’s new headquarters are a showcase for sustainability,” said John Mandyck, vice president, Carrier, government and international relations.
“With the dedication of the Willis H. Carrier Engineering Library, Carrier’s commitment to helping the industry develop new sustainable solutions and products for high-performance buildings will carry on through the advances of ASHRAE’s research and educational materials.”
