Delmar, a part of Cengage Learning, announced the release of the first book in its HVACR series as part of the publishing collaboration with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - National Association Educational Foundation, and the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES).

According to the parties involved, the book HVACR 101 is designed to guide entry-level technicians and first-year students through their first experiences in the HVACR trade. It is designed to provide a solid and thorough introduction to the field. Coverage includes main systems and components, as well as complex procedures, such as scheduled maintenance, installation and repair, and customer service.

This title is the first released in this four-year program for HVACR. A total of nine titles in the series will cover basic skills, math, equipment, installation, troubleshooting, service and repair, systems design, and more. Coverage will range from novice level to HVACR professional. Books HVACR 201, HVACR 301, and HVACR 401 are scheduled to be published in 2009, covering content from electrical, heating, motors, and cooling; to troubleshooting and installation procedures.
