The low-pressure standard, and high-output quartz UVC germicidal lamps are available. According to the company, they have been tested and validated to effectively perform for 17,000 hours (two years), when operated on the company’s high-frequency electronic ballasts, including the Sapphire™, CC, CC-R, DC, TB, and Mobile Room Disinfection Series units. The lamps provide safe, direct exposure to 254-nm UVC radiation, which, when given appropriate exposure time, inactivates the DNA and RNA of microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, mold spores, yeast, and protozoa), making them unable to reproduce, says the company. The results include increased HVAC operating efficiency, longer blower life, and improved air quality.
