The Munchkin stainless steel high-efficiency boilers carry an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating of 95.1 percent. They qualify for a $150 credit under the Federal Energy Policy Act of 2005. The units also meet Energy Star standards. The highly compact Munchkin boiler couples condensing technology with a modulating burner to maximize energy efficiency. The unit’s corrosion-resistant, stainless steel heat exchanger features an extensive series of individual, baffled water circuits whose large surface areas are designed to extract all the latent energy from the combustion process, as well as from the byproducts of that process. The units have a pre-mix combustion system with a fully modulating, load-matching burner that aligns firing with current demand, rather than being fully on or off. If more heat is required, the unit’s fan accelerates; but if demand decreases, so does fan speed. The Munchkin is available in five models, with inputs between 18,000 and 199,000 Btuh.
