Home » Rheem Air Conditioning Div.: HVAC Control System
The Rheem Comfort Control Systemâ„¢, with system-wide communications, allows for individual residential HVAC equipment to be linked. It allows sharing of operating status and diagnostic information, system control, monitoring of overall system health and efficiency, etc. According to the manufacturer, the thermostat is like a communication hub supporting a myriad of home comfort appliances in a single integrated network. The unique onboard relay replaces the traditional mechanical contactor, says the company. Microprocessor technology has been applied to residential 13 to 18 SEER condensers. The system applied to the outdoor equipment can proactively and continuously monitor performance for proper operation. When abnormal conditions occur, the system sends a "Call for Service" notice to the homeowner's thermostat. Upon arrival, the servicing technician is able to review system status and fault history. The system will take a unit off-line if critical conditions are detected.
