The Soft Pocket filter, manufactured by Engineered Filtration Systems (EFS), has a uniquely designed extruded aluminum frame for increased stability, reduced corrosion, and greater filter life, said the company. The media consists of nonsheddding fibers and resists moisture and chemicals to defend against bacterial growth. The filters are available in ASHRAE-rated efficiencies of 40-45 percent (MERV 9), 60-65 percent (MERV 11), and 90-95 percent (MERV 14). Designed for commercial and industrial buildings, the filter has pocket seams that are ultrasonically sealed to prevent leakage and reduce the possibility of tearing. The 2,000-cfm filters have a dimension of 24 by 24 by 24 inches, with a media area of 71 square feet, and eight pockets each. The initial pressure drop ranges between 0.20-0.34 inches water gauge, depending on the filter.
