The White-Rodgers® Nitride 21D64-2 upgrade kit replaces the company’s original 21D64-1 upgrade kit. The new kit comes with items needed for quick, reliable aftermarket replacement of silicon carbide igniters, including a 120-V nitride igniter, universal brackets, wire nuts, instruction booklet, and a full three-year warranty. The new kit does not require a power module, which eliminates the need for additional wiring, making it easier to install, said the company. The nitride upgrade kit is designed for longer igniter life and fewer callbacks for contractors. According to the manufacturer, as opposed to traditional silicon carbide hot surface igniters, nitride igniter technology is proven to be more durable and reliable, even under the most extreme conditions.
