Federal Reserve Districts Say Economy Still Weak
ROCKVILLE, MD — In its National Update weekly fax newsletter, the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) notes that the Federal Reserve Districts have reported generally weak economic activity from late November 2001 through January 2002.
Labor markets are said to be soft with downward trends in pay increases and benefits. Employees are also being required to pay a larger share of health care benefit costs and accept more limited health care plan options.
