ROCKVILLE, Md. - Helmets-to-Hardhats (H2H), the recruiting program that targets recently released military personnel for construction industry skilled labor and other employment opportunities, continues to show strong growth, according to the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA).

Based on H2H's last quarterly report, its statistics show 726,864 Web site visitors (up 35 percent from 537,126 reported at the end of 2004); 67,800 candidate registrations (up 24 percent from 54,493 at the end of 2004); 3,545 local joint apprenticeship training council (JATC) registrations (up 8 percent from 3,285 last period); 3,357 employer registrations (up 7 percent from 3,135 in the previous report); 38,125 career opportunities listed (up 15 percent from 33,074 total in 2004); and 18,913 referrals/placements (up from 14,724 reported in 2004).

MCAA and the United Association (UA) are planning a presentation on H2H's progress for the 2005 UA/MCAA Labor Relations Conference.
