DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products has collaborated with SolarUS to launch a new biobased heat transfer fluid. The new fluid, So-Blu, will offer solar thermal system owners freeze, corrosion, and extreme heat protection resulting in increased system and equipment efficiency and lifespan, said the companies.

As a green, organic heat transfer fluid, Hydromx contains NANO Thermo™ Technology — nanoparticles that rearrange the molecular structure of the fluid, increasing thermal conductivity.  

The BioChill® line is said to be the next generation of heat transfer fluid solutions. These fully-formulated, propylene glycol-based products are manufactured from a 100 percent renewable biobased feedstock.

The Dow Chemical Co. is conducting heat transfer fluid educational presentations at the 2012 AHR Expo. “Dispelling the Myths about Heat Transfer Fluids” is the topic of the presentation by Kevin Connor, technical service manager for Dow Heat Transfer Fluids.
