The new A.O. Smith Product Development Center brings together the company’s North American water-heating division's commercial engineering and platform electronics functions with engineering from the Lochinvar brand to support product development.

The Good Design Awards are intended to recognize products and industry leaders in design and manufacturing that have chartered new directions for innovation and pushed the envelope for competitive products.

In his new role, David Chisolm will lead the parts division that supports A.O. Smith’s water heater manufacturing facilities and provides service parts, and that is also vital to the A.O. Smith pump and expansion tank business.

The move caps off a significant year of growth for Mulcahy, a year that saw the addition of 11 manufacturer lines, 13 new hires, a sixth consecutive Minnesota Top Workplaces award, and plans for an additional 24,000 square feet of inventory storage.

Steve O’Brien, senior vice president, president, and general manager of A.O. Smith's Lochinvar brand, will succeed Dave Warren, senior vice president, president, and general manager of the North America water heating division, when Warren retires April 1.

The visiting VIPs were treated to an all-expense-paid trip that included tickets to the 2016 CMA Fest as well as a chance to check out Lochinvar’s world headquarters and take part in a roundtable discussion with Lochinvar executives.
