“Greeeeeeeeeeen buildings are the place to be…”
Sing that once and tell me what TV show theme song that comes from. Oh I forgot, it’s in the headline of this blog. I can’t get anything past your razor-sharp minds, unlike the dolts on this 60s TV show who let everything get past their minds. My favorite was Mr. Haney because he was always scheming - like someone else I know. Who was your favorite human character? (Arnold Ziffel doesn’t count.)
But so much for my love for this TV classic (I have the first season DVD in my collection). I want to combine these great lyrics with a seminar topic I am developing. If you haven’t guessed by now, the topic is the green movement. It’s not that I am overly fond of this movement. The word green has already burned itself out on me despite that fact that I am a proud alumnus of Michigan State University, home of the green and white.
The HVAC trade will be stuck with this movement for many years to come and green will help contractors make more green, if you know what I mean. So I am hitting the trail soon with more speeches involving the green movement. If I can’t beat it, I’ll join it - reluctantly. But I’ll add a little pizzazz to it.
Here is my plan:
I would like your vocal talents to achieve this. I bet that most of you know the lyrics (by heart) of the theme song from Green Acres. I’ve reworded them to fit this topic (below) and would like anyone to call me and record your voice. Or you could record it using your own software program and e-mail it to me. But it would be nice to hear a real voice for a change instead of an e-mail. And don’t be stuffy by worrying about copyright infringement – this is all acappella and very original! You won’t be identified (but people listening to my seminar might recognize your vocal talents.)
Let’s have fun – please call me at 248-786-1674 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Green buildings are the place to be.
Green livin’ is the life for me.
Green spreadin’ out so far and wide.
Green Manhattan and green that countryside!
