Mike Woolsey became interested in building energy use during the 1970s when petroleum became scarce, energy prices soared, and awareness about energy use surged. Mike went on to study mechanical engineering with a focus on HVAC system design and building energy use and completed his BSME degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Mike is currently a Business Development Manager at Swegon, where he specializes in product and system applications, market management, and business development. Ongoing interest in building science has led Mike to become a Certified Passive House Designer and WELL AP, and to share his experiences with building specifiers through membership in ASHRAE, AIA, International Passive House Association, ILFI, and NESEA. Mike has presented on ventilation topics at hundreds of seminars in the United States, Canada, the UK and Poland. Mike is Chair of ASHRAE SPC 227P Passive Building Design Standard and serves on the WELL Thermal Comfort Advisory panel and the CHPS National Technical Council. Mike also serves as sustainability lead for Swegon in North America, directing a team in EPD development, SBTi reporting and sustainability customer engagement.
