On Nov. 28, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) was the scene of a special celebration for Trane as it made its debut as the new name for the company previously known as American Standard Companies. Shares of Trane began trading under the symbol “TT” on the NYSE.

The Grundfos Group acquired Peerless Pump Co., Indianapolis. The U.S.-based manufacturer of pumps and fire protection systems has a total of six North American facilities. With more than 400 employees and annual sales of $110 million, Peerless is Grundfos’ largest acquisition to date.
Sealed Unit Parts Co. (SUPCO) acquired Climate Technology Corp. (CTC), Memphis, Tenn., including all rights to intellectual property and assets of Climate Technology Corp.’s complete product offering, such as mechanical, digital, programmable, and nonprogrammable wall thermostats.
Carrier Corp. is enhancing the warranties on its 90-percent-plus-efficient gas furnaces, providing a 20-year parts-and-labor warranty for the secondary heat exchanger. The enhancements respond to a recent class-action lawsuit claiming premature failure on the secondary heat exchanger found in Carrier, Bryant, Payne, and Day & Night high-efficiency condensing gas furnaces.
WinWholesale Inc. appointed Michael Souders vice president of its Central region. He will oversee sales and operations in 14 states from Canada to the Gulf Coast. The Central region includes 146 of WinWholesale’s 460 locally owned and operated companies in the United States.
