ECR International Acquired by BDR Thermea

BDR seeks to increase market share and presence worldwide

ECR International, an HVAC manufacturer offering products under the brand names Dunkirk, Utica Boilers, Olsen, Airco, Pennco, RetroAire, Argo, and EMI, announced that its shareholders have approved the sale of the company to BDR Thermea, a Dutch heating products group headquartered in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.

HVACR industry input is being sought into a proposal to modify portions of ASHRAE’s refrigeration safety standard to incorporate subclass 2L flammability classifications. Addendum d to ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 15-2013, Safety Standard for Refrigeration Systems, is open for public comment until Jan. 18, 2016.
