Sept. 27, 2012: CPUC Report Outlines Major Savings Achieved by California Efficiency Programs

September 27, 2012
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) reported that its energy efficiency programs resulted in savings of 5,900 gigawatt-hours of electricity in 2010-2011, enough to power more than 600,000 households for a year — the equivalent of two major power plants.

Solar3D Inc., developer of a new three-dimensional solar cell technology to maximize conversion of sunlight into electricity, has announced the successful fabrication and operation of a working three-dimensional solar cell that the company says produces at least 250 percent of the power of a basic silicon solar cell.
