Chemours Introduces Two New Low-GWP Refrigerants in the US

Will replace refrigerants deemed by EPA as no longer acceptable in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning

Chemours announced that two new Opteon™ refrigerants with low global warming potential (GWP) are now commercially available in the United States. The company said these are the first in a portfolio of low-GWP stationary refrigerants that it will introduce to the U.S. in the next few years.

Under EPA Settlement, Cold Storage Warehouse to Improve Safety

A Chicopee, Massachusetts, cold storage warehouse that utilizes ammonia refrigeration is spending more than half a million dollars, primarily on public safety enhancements, to resolve claims it violated the federal Clean Air Act’s chemical release prevention requirements in its handling of ammonia at the facility.
